FM kicks off budget 2020 with 'Halwa' ceremony

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday kicked off the countdown to the Union Budget on February 1 by joining the 'Halwa' ceremony. After the halwa ceremony, the Budget paper printing starts under utmost secrecy. Nirmala Sitharaman, MoS (Finance) Anurag Thakur participated in the 'Halwa' ceremony on Monday. The ceremony was held at the Finance Ministry in the North Block. Sitharaman will present her 2nd budget.
