Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu was detained by Renigunta police at Tirupati airport in Renigunta. Chandrababu Naidu was on his way to Chittoor district for the election campaign but the police denied him permission to attend election events owing to the discrepancies in the permissions which he received from the Election Commission. He then staged a sit-in at the airport.
