Former President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva walked out of prison Friday, after the Supreme Court issued a broad ruling that allows defendants to remain free while their appeals are pending. According to the ruling, da Silva cannot run for office unless his criminal convictions are overturned. da Silva's release has brought an interesting twist in Brazil's politics as he is a strong competitor to President Jair Bolsonaro.
