Former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah detained under J&K public safety law, SC issues notice

Former J&K chief minister and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah has been detained under the Public Safety Act which allows detention for up to two years without a trial. Meanwhile, Supreme Court hearing a plea by Rajya Sabha MP and MDMK general secretary Vaiko seeking production of former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah, issued a notice to the Centre and J&K administration and fixed plea for hearing on September 30.
