GC Murmu appointed 1st LG of J&K, Governor Malik transferred to Goa

Following a bifurcation of the state of J&K on August 5, President Ram Nath Kovind's office released a statement and said 1985-batch IAS officer Girish Chandra Murmu has been appointed the first Lieutenant-Governor of J&K. Governor of J&K, Satya Pal Malik, has been appointed as the Governor of Goa. Meanwhile, PS Sreedharan Pillai has been named as the Governor of Mizoram.
