The government issued an advisory to all television channels and cable operators in the wake of the SC's Ayodhya verdict, asking them to adhere to programme code and ensure that debates, discussions and visuals do not incite any divisive or anti-national feelings. Twitter asked its users to follow trusted sources to get reliable information and warned them against sharing untrustworthy information.
