Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba was named the next cabinet secretary and has been handed a tenure of two years. Gauba will initially join as the Officer on special duty in the Cabinet Secretariat before taking charge of India's top bureaucratic from P K Sinha from 30th August or at the earliest if possible, according to an official order. Gauba is an IAS officer of the 1982 batch of the Jharkhand cadre.
