After months of chaotic protests, brawl between the police and the public and several deaths, the Hong Kong government has formally withdrawn the unpopular extradition bill. "I now formally announce the withdrawal of the bill," Secretary for Security John Lee told the city's legislature and refused to answer any questions. Had the bill been passed into law, Hong Kong residents would've been extradited to Taiwan.
