Just after BSP chief Mayawati pointed towards the end of ties with SP and contesting polls on 11 seats in UP Assembly alone, SP president Akhilesh Yadav said that if the break-up happens, then they will too fight alone in the upcoming by-elections. "If we have to go separate ways, then so be it," he said. The splitting of ways has come after the mahagathbandhan faced defeat from BJP at the Lok Sabha elections 2019.
