India receives UN awards for combating non-communicable diseases

Indian health ministry along with National Health Mission's director, Manoj Jhalani have been chosen to receive the award of UN Interagency Task Force (UNIATF) for their useful contribution in preventing and controlling the Non-controllable diseases. 62% deaths in India happens due to NCDs and health ministry has made plans to control tobacco abuse along with controlling excessive intakes of fats, salts and sugar.
