Indian government sources have rejected China's claims of a decrease in the number of Indian troops engaged in the standoff at Doklam. China’s foreign ministry issued a 15-page statement which said Indian troop numbers in the Doklam region had fallen from a peak of more than 400 to about 40 at the end of July. India said around 350 troops have been deployed there over the past six weeks.
