Islamic State claims responsibility for attack on a military camp in Niger

According to a statement, the Islamic State has claimed the responsibility for an attack on a military camp in Niger near the border. ISWAP said the attack killed 100 soldiers and injured several others while Niger army spokesperson said 71 soldiers were killed. Jihadists linked to Islamic State and al Qaeda have mounted more lethal attacks across Sahel region in West Africa despite numerous troops being sent to counter them.
