US Navy may one day use a volcanic rock on the edge of the East China Sea may one day as an unsinkable aircraft carrier if war breaks out in Asia. Japan is buying Mageshima Island, an uninhabited island 34 kilometers from Japan’s main island Kyushu. It has two intersecting unpaved runways that are currently abandoned. These will be used for US Navy and Marine Corps planes to simulate aircraft carrier landings.
