Kerala's IAS Officer suspended after journalist dies in accident

The Kerala govt has suspended an IAS officer Sriram Venkataraman who was in judicial custody after he rammed his car into a 2-wheeler which led to journalist K Muhammed Basheer's death. SIT was formed by the state govt to probe the case. The officer has been accused of rash, negligent driving & culpable homicide not amounting to murder. He is currently lodged in a special cell of a medical college meant for sick prisoners.
