Laws to regulate social media will be ready by Jan 2020: Centre informs SC

The centre informs SC that the entire process of finalising the laws on regulating social media will be over by Jan 2020 and sought 3 months more time for notifying the final revised rules in accordance with the law. The government said that several rounds of industry consultations & discussions have already occurred & believes a further period of 3 months will be required for finalising and notifying the final revised rules.
