Maharashtra announces salary cuts, CM to take 60 percent pay cut amid coronavirus lockdown

In the wake of coronavirus outbreak affecting economy, Maharashtra govt today said that there would be a 60 % cut in this month's salaries of public representatives in the state, including the chief minister. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, who is also the state finance minister said the salaries of Class I and II will be cut by 50% while that of Class III employees will be cut by 25%.
