Malegaon blast accused Lt Col Purohit granted bail

The SC has granted bail to Lieutenant Colonel Shrikant Prasad Purohit in the 2008 Malegaon blast case that killed 7. Col Purohit has been in prison for the last 9 years. Purohit had moved the apex court challenging the Bombay HC’s order dismissing his bail plea. Earlier, a special MCOCA court had ruled that the Anti-Terrorism Squad had wrongly applied this law against Purohit and 10 others.
