Mario Draghi assumes position of Italy's Prime Minister

Former European Central Bank chief Mario Draghi formally accepted the post of Italy's Prime Minister on Friday. Draghi will replace Giuseppe Conte's centre-left coalition that collapsed a month ago. 73-year-old Draghi spoke with President Sergio Mattarella. He will return to the presidential palace at midday on Saturday to take oath as the Prime Minister. Daniele Franco has been named as the new economy minister.
