Maximum RTI applications rejected in 2016-17

Union Finance Ministry has received a maximum number of RTI application in the demonetization year and that is the year that saw maximum number rejected requests under the RTI act. Most of the rejections were the govt companies and many rejections have referred to trade secrets, economic or scientific interests as reasons for refusal. Overall there was 18.41% rejection of RTI application in 2016-17.
