While the Indian government has held the China Pakistan Economic Corridor illegal, former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti has batted for the corridor saying that Jammu and Kashmir union territory should be a part of it. Mufti argued that J&K was part of the trade arena before 1947 and added that the region can act as a bridge of peace between India and Pakistan. She said the borders of India and Pakistan should be opened.
