Mexican President Obrador contracts Coronavirus disease

Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Obrador announced on Sunday that he has contracted the disease. Obrador has been an opponent of stricter lockdowns and travelled throughout the country in the past few days, meeting his supporters and hugging them. Mexico started vaccination a few days ago, becoming the first Latin American country to start vaccinating its citizens.
