Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh and Shivakumar were detained in Bengaluru after they tried to visit a hotel where several rebel party lawmakers are staying. Digvijay sat on a hunger strike at police station and accused the BJP of abducting democracy. He said 5 MLAs to whom he had personally spoken had said they were being held captive. Shivakumar said BJP was "hell-bent" on destabilising democratically elected governments.
