Boris Johnson's plan to fast-track his Brexit deal through parliament in time for 31 Oct deadline got rejected by MPs, even after he threatened to pull his deal & press for a general election. The govt lost a crunch vote by 322 to 308. Even some MPs minded backing Johnson's deal said they can't accept such a truncated debate. It is still unclear whether PM will pull his deal & ask parliament to back a general election instead.
