New Zealand passed a law to change the gun laws in the wake of Christchurch shootings, that bars the circulation & use of semi-automatic firearms, its parts & shotguns. The NZ police expect nearly 1.2-1.5 millions of firearms to be surrendered in a buyback scheme. The govt pardoned until Sept 30 to surrender the banned items. There is no law for people to register firearms, so cops have no idea how many more will come?
