The Sports Ministry rejected the nominations of Dutee Chand & Harbhajan Singh for Arjuna Award & Khel Ratna respectively. They cited delay by the state govt in filing the nomination, which was after the deadline, so they rejected the applications. In Chand's case, besides missing the deadline, her medals were also not in order of ranking. She asked CM Patnaik to resend her file to the Sports Ministry for consideration.
