Karnataka home minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the state does not have a detention centre, then how one can lodge African nationals found guilty of drug peddling. Speaking to reporters he said, "in qualified terms, it is not a detention centre there is no purpose to detain someone on the issue of citizenship". The Home Minister also said he has no information about the facility being operationalised yet.
