Number of Lok Sabha MPs with cases related to crimes against women increases 2 to 19 in 10 years: ADR

As per election watchdog ADR, the no of LS MPs with cases related to crimes against women has surged from 2 to 19 in 10 years. WB reported the highest number with 16 MPs/MLAs who declared cases of crimes against women, followed by Odisha & Maharashtra with 12 MPs/MLAs each. ADR report said there is an increase of 231 % during the period 2009-2019. The no of candidates with criminal cases against women went up from 38 to 126.
