Philippines says it would seek US help if China attacks in South China Sea

Countering the Chinese misadventure in the South China Sea region, Philippines has made it clear that it would turn to United States for assistance if Beijing tries to attack in the South China Sea. Philippines Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr cited the defence agreement between Manila and Washington while issuing a warning to China. US and Philippines signed a Mutual Defence Treaty back in 1951.
