Union Minister Prakash Javadekar received the portfolio of the heavy industries and public enterprises from the President of India after Arvind Sawant, the minister in charge, resigned on Monday. The President accepted the resignation of Arvind Sawant from the Union Council of Ministers, with immediate effect, under clause (2) of Article 75 of the Constitution. Javadekar is now in charge of 4 different ministries.
