Relief for Rahul Gandhi as SC closes contempt plea over 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' remark

The Supreme Court on Thursday closed the proceedings of criminal contempt plea filed by BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his 'chowkidar chor hai' remark. The Court accepted the apology of the Congress leader and left him after a warning. Gandhi had made the remarks on April 10. Senior advocate AM Singhvi, appearing for Gandhi said the Congress leader expressed regret over the wrongful attribution.
