Republican Senator Ted Cruz slammed for going on trip as Texas struggles with winter storm

Republican Senator Ted Cruz had to place the ire of the public after he was spotted flying out to Cancun with his family at a time when Texas was battling the extreme conditions that have emerged due to a winter storm. "It was obviously a mistake, and in hindsight, I wouldn't have done it. I was trying to be a dad and all of us have made decisions," the Republican said in his defense after cutting his trip short.
