Things turned bitter between Assam and Mizoram amid the ongoing border dispute after an Assam resident died in the custody of Mizoram Police. Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal wrote to Union home minister Amit Shah to brief him about the situation and tell him about the abduction and death of the Assam resident identified as Intazul Laskar. The CM has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for the family of the victim.
