Shivsena takes a U-turn on citizenship bill, cites 2 conditions

Uddhav Thackeray led Shivsena, which supported the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in Lok Sabha on Tuesday has now taken a U-turn ahead of the Rajya Sabha session. Uddhav Thackeray said his party would support the bill only if the government accepts its suggestion to hold back voting rights to brand-new citizens for 25 years. The Shivsena also suggested amendment in including the refugees from Sri Lanka in the scope of the bill.
