US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had said Iranian general Qassem Soleimani was planning a broad, imminent large-scale attack on US embassies and other facilities when he was killed by a US drone strike. He said the US had specific information on threatened attacks against American facilities such as US Embassies, military bases throughout the region. Trump added that 4 US Embassies were targeted in a planned attack.
