Amid the rising tensions between the US and China as aircraft carriers of both the navy's remain deployed in the South China sea, state secretary Mike Pompeo has said that the world will not allow the Chinese government to treat the South China Sea as its maritime empire. "Beijing's claims to offshore resources across most of the South China Sea are completely unlawful, as is its campaign of bullying to control them," Pompeo said.
