The Special Protection Group (SPG), about 3000-strong 'zero error' security force for the prime minister, former PM's and their immediate family members, guards just four people now. Officials stated that the personnel for the SPG is drawn from Central Armed Forces (CAPs) in deputations with some modern weapons, gadgets, and vehicles. Security provided to former PM Manmohan Singh has been withdrawn but enjoys Z-plus security.
