Sri Lanka president extended state of emergency for 1 more month

Looking at the security situations in the country, the president of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena has extended the state of emergency by a month on Saturday. Sirisena has signed an extraordinary gazette notification which states that the emergency has been called for the security of the public. The emergency has been continuing since 22nd April, a day after multiple terror attacks killed over 250 people.
