Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy moved Supreme Court against Uttarakhand High Court judgment dating July 21, 2020. The Uttarakhand High Court had dismissed Swamy's plea in which he had challenged the state government’s takeover of the Char Dham and 51 other shrines through the formation of the Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board. Char Dham shrines include Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.
