Sunil Arora appointed election commissioner,Rajiv Mehrishi to be next CAG

The government has appointed former IAS officer Sunil Arora as the new Chief Election Commissioner of India. He would be replacing Achal Kumar Joti as the CEC who was appointed in July 2017. In addition, Rajiv Mehrishi has been appointed as the next Comptroller and Auditor General of India, after stepping down as Home Secretary on Thursday. Mehrishi has held several key posts in his career.
