Taiwan foreign minister says China trying to turn Taiwan into "next Hong Kong"

Amid the historic visit of high-level US officials to democratic Taiwan, the island nation's foreign minister Joseph Wu has warned that China is trying to turn democratic Taiwan into another Hong Kong. "Our daily lives have become increasingly difficult as China continues to pressure Taiwan into accepting its political conditions, conditions that will turn Taiwan into the next Hong Kong," he said.
