Though the US president Donald Trump wanted to strongly work with the newly-elected PM Modi to strengthen trade bonds, the president has announced on Friday that he will be ending its preferential trade treatment for India on 5th June. Earlier in March, he cleared his intentions to remove India from the Generalized System of Preferences program and so it is done now. India is one of the biggest beneficiaries of the GSP.
