A well-known church leader in Ukraine, who has earlier described the coronavirus pandemic as "god's punishment" for same-sex marriage has tested positive for the pandemic. Patriarch Filaret, head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church--Kiev Patriarchate is undergoing treatment after contracting the disease. The church said in a Facebook post that the state of health of Patriarch Filaret is stable and asked everyone to pray for him.
