Use the term 'Scheduled caste' instead of 'Dalit': I&B ministry

The information and broadcasting ministry has asked the television channels to not to use the term dalits and instead use 'scheduled caste'. In June, Bombay High Court has ordered the ministry to make sure that the word 'dalit' is not used in the media. On March 15th, the ministry of social justice and empowerment had also issued a circular asking the government to remove the term 'dalit' from the official communications.
