The Defense Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman revealed that during an air-to-air engagement between India and Pakistan on 27th February, neighboring air force has lost one of its pilot who was knocked down by Wing Commander Abhinandan. She said that the pilot was beaten by local villagers and probably died in the hospital later. Sitharaman further refused to disclose more details about the Pakistani pilot.
