Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga has been named the new Prime Minister of the country. Suga was elected as the new head of Japan’s ruling party on Monday. He received 377 votes in the ruling Liberal Democratic Party election. The other two contenders received a combined 157 votes. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had announced last month that he was stepping down from his position due to health issues.
