Serena Williams, who lost to Japan's Naomi Osaka in the US Open final, is being fined $17,000 for three code violations - $4,000 for being warned for coaching from her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, $3,000 for breaking her racket and $10,000 for verbally abusing chair umpire Carlos Ramos by calling him a thief for costing her a point. The fine will be deducted from Williams' runner-up prize money of $1.85 million.
