Jofra Archer's terrific 6-62 finally gave England the upper hand in the fifth and final Ashes Test, despite Australia's Steve Smith stocking up more runs scoring a convincing 80 on day two at The Oval. Archer was backed by three wickets from left-arm pacer Sam Curran - including two in two balls - as the Aussies were bowled out for 225 keeping the fate of the Test wide open. England ended the day 9 for no loss.
