Unlike other cricketers who fought elections after getting retired, Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Mortaza participated in the ongoing 11th general elections and also registered a massive victory by winning over 96% of the votes in his constituency. He is also the first active cricketer to bag this position in his country and the second national cricket team captain, after Naimur Rahman Durjoy, to enter the Parliament.
