Belagavi Panthers suspended over KPL match-fixing scandal

As match-fixing scandal rocked Karnataka Premier League, the state cricket association has suspended Belagavi Panthers franchise, whose owner Ali Ashfaq Thara was arrested in connection with the scandal. CM Gautam, a first-class player who played for three IPL teams, and his former Karnataka teammate Abrar Qazi of Bellary Tuskers were nabbed by police for allegedly accepting money to fix matches in KPL.
