Berlin marathon world record broken by champion Eliud Kipchoge

Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge, known as the greatest marathon runner of the modern era, broke the world record in Berlin by finishing in 2hr 1min 39sec. The previous record set four years ago by Dennis Kimetto was brought down by 1min 18sec as Kipchoge finished the 42.195km race with a string of pacemakers. Kipchoge has 10 wins from 11 marathon races and a successful career in track with gold, silver and bronze wins.
